Actors, Keep Coming Back Here To Get More Informed About What The Merger Vote Means For YOUR Future.
As I’ve already stated, I am going to try to sort out the facts, and make an easily understandable points list for my actor readers here. I may make some videos to better explain things, I may get others to write in. I know that the information is hard to decipher, I know there’s a lot of evasion and intentional campaigning that resembles propaganda. I am certain that there are actors who will personally benefit from the merger, convincing others who are less further in their own acting careers, to vote for the merger. Whether or not they feel the merger may benefit the actors who they are convincing to vote yes. Some actors are using social media to persuade fans, who are also actors, to vote their way.
I sincerely hope that I can do that here, that I’ll have the time, and get all the facts from the most informed actors. I won’t be able to begin analyzing, and researching the Merger facts; until after the Oscars, at least.
Meantime, I wanted to post something from the opposing side to what I had already published, from an actor who is AGAINST the SAG-AFTRA MERGER, until I can get to a better discussion; and publish some kind of informed and well-educated, point by point, with counterpoints. To be fair. I want all actors to be completely informed, to decide how they will vote.
I think there’s ‘snowballing’ going on, and deliberate obfuscation, withholding of information. Subterfuge. That makes me angry. Actors are entitled to the facts, and plainly.
Access to real facts and information, and outright discussion, is the American way.
I remind all SAG or AFTRA actors to explore and understand the full picture, not just part. And to demand facts, instead of a snow job. Don’t be cowed by fear-mongering, or name calling, or social pressure.
No actor will lose out by knowing more.
Nor will any actor lose work by talking about this.
