My Comment About Acting Nominees, Notably The Actresses On The List
I left this at the L.A. Times:
There are some very fine actors here. Notably, the actresses. These women are so talented with a giant-sized force. Awesome. Two, at the heights are Ellen Barkin, Edie Falco…and there’s others. It’s a funny business, the acting business. These two women wouldn’t be considered sexually alluring enough for movies, by the standard of what would appeal the most to a teenage boy. Yet, by acting standards, they are immensely gifted, and American treasures. (That is, if we treasured our artists, for one; and if we hadn’t devised our standards differently for each gender, secondly…)

I left out actresses Patti LuPone, Frances McDormand…and my mentions are not all that deserve recognition, awe, and awards. If anyone has seen any of the Broadway acting performances on the list, I would love your opinion or comment about what you saw. (You lucky duck.)
The Tony Nominations Will Be Broadcast On June 12th, 2011
CBS will broadcast the show live in NYC and the East Coast; but it will air later, on the West Coast.
So no spoilers, please!
[Yeah, like there's any chance of that not happening on Twitter! Maaannn...that info will be out from backstage before the announcement is made onstage and on the air, live! But that's also why I love Twitter, so there ya go...No right to complain, I admit!]
Best,
Dana
