Great post. I love these pictures.They are from the book Crying Men, by Sam Taylor-Wood, done in 2004. From the website for the book: “Crying Men is a series of photographic portraits of famous film actors. Taylor-Wood makes portraits of her subjects as actors; she shoots them in role, asking each to perform and cry for the camera and demands the actor’s investment in the process. These are no passive sitters.” It is an amazing work. She has also made several films and is an intriguing artist with an obvious interest in the intersection between acting and art.
