Happy New Year 2009, to all the actors, directors, and entire community of Hollywood Actor Prep.
I’d like to assist you in reaching your goals, hopes and dreams this year.
I’d like to start by having you acknowledge all the abundance out there, of acting roles, and of the new independence. An independence that never existed, previously.
That’s right.
This is a new age. Truly. No hokey-pokey…no hokus-pokus….this is the first time in history that actors have an ability to make their own product. To exhibit their own “wares”, to be seen. Without passing through a lot of nigh-impossible doors, first.
This is the very first time that actors do not have to worry about the possibility of never having an audience.
This is the very first time that actors have the ability to show their talent, to the world, and to the industry. On their own.
You have the ability to take action, in your career, that no actors have ever had prior.
I hope you seize the moment. I hope you seize the day; this day, because even though each year seems so long, at the outset…it can pass very quickly…
…Without sufficient planning. Without sufficient goals. Especially, without sufficiently satisfying achievement.
I wish to inspire you and support you in using the internet to kick-start your career. In creating a real foundation.
I want you to plan, and I want you to have, by the end of the year, some kind of “acting portfolio” on the web.

There is no judgment here, just inspiration, just action…
Let each photo represent 2 months, and take this week to plan a strategy. There should be a goal for the end of each two-month-segment.
Completion should be the final goal, and should be accomplished by “Month 10″.
(Yes, I do know that there are 12 months in a year… I’ll tell you about the last two months of 2009, a bit later on…)
All I ask, for this week, is for you to strategize your major goal of completed acting reel, into five ‘do-able’ goals.
It won’t be easy. There’s a lot more work then it appears, right now. But, I am offering you some real support and expertise, and inspiration. And community.
And I urge you to take advantage, while I am offering it for free. Because it won’t be soon….And I’ll be sending some questions and such for you to think about, to make it easier along the way…
Set aside the first 2 months should probably be all about planning and preparation…But be ready to rock-and-roll right after…Unless you have a lot of footage* already to work with.
(And I mean *professional looking acting film footage. Not rinky-dink or homemade looking.
…Unprofessional looking only looks unprofessional–and will not help you, at all. It’s harmful to your career…)
You don’t want another year to go by without taking a major leap ahead in your acting career…Do you?
Writing goals down and telling someone else is one way to really get things done. No one else will know, about your commitment, but me.
