Hollywood Has No Available Actors, For "Leading Men Type"…Wha-a-a?

tarzan11

If you are an actor, and are a leading-man-type, and you gotta let me know and I will let Disney, some casting people at major movie studios, AND the press (including VARIETY) know…because they think there are no actors like that around, and I they only need to be able to see more actors than can make it, in this dumb system…

The Best Way An Actor Can Act, Around A Film Director

If a director doesn’t guide the actor, what does a professional actor do? A film director handles the entire overview of a movie, all the technical and artistic elements, before-during-and-after the shooting schedule. What is really surprising, is that sometimes the director never talks to an actor, at all!?… I can tell you what I did, and what is expected…

Great Films Can Be Made In Hollywood

“Movie quality gone downhill?” Maybe. However, it’s exceptions like this that make it all so very grand, and remind me what I love about acting, about the craft; and about the beauty of it all, in our little world of this lovely, wonderful, exciting artform.

Announcing Live Talent Show On YouTube, Musicians + Actors + More

saw5-245x300

Thanks to Variety, I learned that YouTube has a live, streaming, concert planned to honor those talents made on the video network, on the internet! The “stars” that are slated, are those that succeeded on YouTube. They are mostly musical acts, and I noticed that a Hollywood Film Studio, Lionsgate, is involved, and will be promoting “Saw V”.

Actor Terrence Howard Talks About Acting On NPR

hat

Actor Terrence Howard is sensitive, deep, and possibly depressed, in this interview by Scott Smith on NPR. He clearly mourns his mother. He makes only a slight reference to his recent “firing” from “Iron Man 2″, but says a lot about acting craft and how he got to be a professional actor.

Brando Flubs A Screen Test Audition

Marlon Brando auditioned for “Rebel Without A Cause”? On film??
Like Paul Newman and James Dean, in the last post: another great actor, on film, before anyone knew how great he really was! This is most likely Brando’s first film audition, when he was new to acting in Hollywood, new to film auditioning, new to the movie industry. He hadn’t even made any movies yet…and it shows in the way he auditions.

Paul Newman + James Dean Audition Together

Video clip is Paul Newman and James Dean, together, auditioning for Elia Kazan who is behind the camera, for “East of Eden”. Both Newman and Dean are fresh from the Actors Studio, and fresh to film. They are clearly young and inexperienced, and I dissect this clip, from an acting perspective; while discussing what was going on in their lives and the world, that influenced what you see here.

...Real blog for real actors by an authentic, experienced acting + voiceover professional. Dana Kaminski had an acting career that succeeded and lasted. Amongst her credits are starring regular role on ABC series, and substantial feature film roles. (Bio page.)
This actress, now author, left the Hollywood Industry, but not L.A. Coming back with the same passion for acting, with this blog, wasn't a choice. Quote:"I started Hollywood Actor Prep, to support actors with real information. Had to. There just wasn't any to be found when I searched, on the 'net. Not by people with real experience, who had actually been inside The Industry, had a real acting career, and had substantially worked. Successfully...as I did, in both NY and LA.
I saw a lot of sites, and not one, actual, real one. Some were impressive in appearance, and expensive. Some were outright shoddy. All were entire inventions. Some conned actors for lots of money; some had social site followings.
It turned me around."
There's no fee, here at Hollywood Actor Prep. Except that for each article you read, you share it around. Sharing this site, inspiring someone else, that's the karmic requirement. No money comes in, so no money goes out, either. Not to pay for marketing, nor advertising. The actor-readers of Hollywood Actor Prep are responsible for reaching out to their fellow actors and actresses, sharing experiential information, and creating a supportive community.
The readers disseminate the acting information, keeping integrity in the acting profession. This blog has an additional mission: to keep the art of acting alive. All of the actors here are spreading that karma, consolidating an artistic actor strength, connecting us all in a way that was not possible before the internet. All real actors, supporting and mentoring, around the globe, and down the line.
WELCOME!
"So many great painters, great musicians, great geniuses ended with nothing. With broken hearts in rooms ... I want to see artists sitting at the table that decide the outcome of their lives." --Bono
